This week we completed Project Brief v1.0 and submitted it. I feel that we did a good job as a team and the brief is well written and developed. Now is the time to start moving further forward with the research process. Yasmin and I have been assigned to field research, which requires us to seek out professionals across different fields for their opinion of our design idea. We will also collect opinions from the general student body through an online survey.
The grade for the Augmented Reality Prototype came out, and I am satisfied with the result. Although I have hoped for a higher grade, I understand what areas needed improvement despite the lack of feedback. Looking back at the reflection documentation process helped me identify the gaps that exist within my prototype. Moving forward, I will push myself to develop prototypes more on the basis of my own abilities, instead of relying on templates.
Lockdown happened in Auckland, which means that we have to move all of our classes to online learning. This means that for our group project, ideas will have to be altered to suit the circumstances of not being able to work together in person and access some of the tools needed. For how drastic the design idea will be changed, will be dependent on what the group’s comfortable with and the result of our project brief.
